Center leader Kristina Haugaa is the second most publishing female researcher in Norway in the period 2019-2022.

Kristina Haugaa holds the 29th place in the most publishing researchers in Norway.

Haugaa, who researches hereditary heart diseases, is consultant cardiologist at OUS, professor at the University of Oslo and heads a center for research-based innovation, ProCardio.

As center manager and supervisor for research fellows and postdocs, she is involved in many projects, which results in many publications.

When asked how she manages to publish so much, she gives credit to her research group.

​For her, it is motivating that the research is useful. When she meets patients and their families, they ask her questions that her research provides answers for. How much can or should one exercise in combination with a heart disease? Is it advisable to become pregnant while diagnosed with a heart disease?

- They have many questions, and there are actually questions I can help them get answers to. It is very rewarding. That I can actually help people in a concrete way.
