Forensic Genetic Research

Our forensic genetic research focuses on generating essential knowledge about DNA markers and their application in practical forensic settings. By conducting extensive genetic studies on relevant population groups, we characterize and map various genetic markers. These findings provide a foundation for using these markers in kinship analyses and other forensic investigations.

We also develop software and statistical models to support the assessment of evidence in kinship cases.

The section has extensive experience in this field, working both independently and in collaboration with international research networks and organizations, including EDNAP, YHRD, ISFH, and ESWG. Our results have been presented at national and international conferences and published in leading scientific journals.
