Child welfare services, paternity and maternity test

The Child Welfare Service can, on behalf of the parties, order a DNA test to investigate paternity or other kinship.

DNA Analyses and Sampling in Paternity Cases and Other Family Matters

The Child Welfare Services can, on behalf of the parties, order a DNA test for the investigation of paternity or other kinship. The Child Welfare Services will be the commissioning party and responsible for payment. Documents and equipment for sampling are sent to the Child Welfare Services, which will then forward the equipment and consent forms to the parties. Sampling from the oral cavity can be performed by a doctor/healthcare professional or possibly by staff from the Child Welfare Services. If the results are to be presented to a public authority, it is important that the sampling is conducted in a secure and documented manner. If the parties wish to use a blood sample, 2–3 ml of EDTA blood is required. Sampling is then carried out at a general practitioner/health institution.

The sampler sends the completed forms along with the samples to the address below.
