Ordering a DNA test
Here you can find more information about how to order a private DNA test to determine close biological relationships.
How to Order and Submit Samples
1. Place Your Order
Complete and submit the order form. If you have any questions, please contact us at +47 23 01 31 50 and we will be happy to assist you.Please always contact us by phone before ordering a relationship test (e.g., full sibling, half-sibling, etc.).
2. Order Confirmation and Sample Kit
Once we receive your order, we will register it and send the contact person:

A confirmation of the assignment
-
Consent form(s)
-
Sample collection kit(s) for oral (cheek) swabs for all participants
An invoice will be sent separately by our accounts department.
The contact person is responsible for forwarding the consent forms and sampling kits to all participants.
3. Collecting the Sample
Samples are collected from the inside of the cheek using the provided swabs. The sampling kit and collected samples have a long shelf life.
Samples may be collected either:

By healthcare personnel / a general practitioner (GP), or
-
At home (if formal documentation of sampling is not required)
Option A: Sampling by Healthcare Personnel / GP
Bring the following to the appointment:

The consent form(s)
-
The unopened sampling kit(s)
The healthcare professional will:

Collect the sample
-
Confirm the identity of the person providing the sample
Please bring valid identification.
For children under 15 years of age, a parent or legal guardian must sign the consent form.
The healthcare professional will send the sample directly to:

Please note: Sampling by a doctor is not included in the test price.
Option B: Sampling at Home
Follow the instructions provided in the kit.
Send the sample(s) together with the signed consent form(s) to:

Samples do not need to be sent together or at the same time.
4. Reporting of Results
Signed consent forms will be attached to the final report sent to the contact person.
If a copy address has been provided, a copy of the report will also be sent there.
All participants in the test are entitled to receive the report.
Confidentiality and Data Protection
Oslo University Hospital HF maintains strict confidentiality regarding all analysis assignments and customer communications.
Personal data will be processed and deleted in accordance with applicable data protection legislation, including the Personal Data Act and the Personal Data Regulations (please also refer to our privacy policy).
