ENACT-65 Consortium Kicks Off European Research Project to Improve Cancer Care for Older Adults
Researchers, clinicians and project partners from across Europe gathered at Oslo University Hospital on 1–2 September 2026 for the kick-off meeting of ENACT-65, an EU-funded research project aiming to improve cancer care for older adults.

Coordinated by the European Palliative Care Research Centre (PRC) at Oslo University Hospital, ENACT-65 brings together expertise in geriatric oncology, clinical nutrition, exercise science, supportive and palliative care, digital health, implementation science and health economics.
The project will investigate whether integrating nutritional care and supervised exercise into routine cancer treatment can improve quality of life and survival among patients aged 65 years and older with advanced lung or colorectal cancer. The multicentre clinical trial will involve approximately 400 patients and evaluate an intervention combining the digital MyPath Nutrition Care Pathway with a live-remote supervised exercise programme.
During the two-day meeting, partners discussed preparations for the clinical trial, development of the interventions, patient and caregiver involvement, and plans for implementation and dissemination. The meeting also provided an opportunity to coordinate activities across the project and strengthen collaboration between participating institutions.
