Kristina Haugaa elected to prestigious ESC Genomics leadership
ProCardio Center leader, Kristina Haugaa, has been elected to a prestigious leadership position with the ESC Council on Cardiovascular Genomics. She will serve as chairperson from 2028 to 2030, as part of the council’s presidential trio.

Genetics is becoming central to cardiology and medicine more broadly, with gene therapy now being explored in several inherited cardiac conditions. As chair of the Council on Cardiovascular Genomics, Professor Haugaa will work to strengthen education, research, and the implementation of genetic therapies to improve outcomes for patients with inherited cardiovascular disease.
