NCS Spring Meeting 2025

ProCardio was well represented during the NCS Spring Meeting 2025. Both senior researchers, team leaders and PhD-fellows from ProCardio was represented in the program.

ProCardio was well represented at the NCS Spring Meeting 2025 with center leader Kristina Haugaa as chair of the research session.

This year’s NCS Spring Meeting was held at Radisson Blu Scandinavia May 8th-10th. It offered an exciting and diverse program. ProCardio was well represented with several speakers at the meeting.

ProCardio Centre leader Professor Kristina Haugaa was co-chair of the Research Session at the NCS Spring Meeting. In this session, guest researcher professor Christian Hassager from Denmark shared exiting experience from running RCTs on the acute and critical ill patients in Denmark. Haugaa was also chair of an industrial symposium together with Bayer AS on the new treatment options of patients with ATTR cardiomyopathies.

Jan Otto Beitnes presented how to select patients for tricuspid valve repair and opportunities for transcatheter interventions and was one of the speakers at the industrial symposium together with Pfizer AS about the echocardiographic diagnostic criteria for heart amyloidosis.

Eivind W. Aabel was one of the co-chairs at the interactive case-based session, as well as one of the speakers at the industrial symposium together with Novo Nordisk Norway AS on the effect of GLP-1 analogs on cardiovascular disease.

Cecilie Bugge presented a case in the interactive case-based session, emphasizing the importance of clinical evaluation of patients before moving on to more advanced diagnostic methods.

The organization committee of the NCS Spring Meeting 2025 involved several ProCardio members, with both Professor Thor Edvardsen (vice chair) and Øyvind Haugen Lie.
