Parking at Oslo University Hospital

We have parking spaces at all our locations. Visitors must, with a few exceptions, pay for parking. Follow the instructions on the signs when you arrive.

How to pay for your parking

The digital payment parking sollution for OUS is called APCOA Flow. As a visitor you may either use the app APCOA Flow to start and end a parking session, or use our payment machine found in the parking areas.

  • Download the app APCOA Flow
  • Register your vehicle and payment card
  • Start your parking in the app when you arrive
  • End the parking session when you leave
  • Alternatively, you may pay at one of the payment machines found in the parking areas

What does parking cost?

  • 59 NOK per hour
  • 371 NOK per 24 hours
  • 1222 NOK per week
  • Minimum: 12 NOK

The surcharge for using the app is 15 percent.

Disabled parking

There are spaces available for disabled parking at all of our hospitals. You must have a valid and visible disabled parking badge in your car's front window to be able to park in these spaces. A map of the hospital you are going to, which also shows where disabled parking is, can be found in the list below.

Our locations

Due to ongoing construction and excavation work at Aker Hospital, the number of parking spaces will be reduced.

There is still good parking capacity in the area, but you should expect slightly longer walking distances. Reserved spaces for people with reduced mobility (free of charge) are available near all entrances.

All changes and closures will be clearly marked with temporary signs and reflective tape.

Visitor parking spaces have been established outside the main entrance and down towards the tent used by the park department. In addition, there are visitor spaces outside the entrances to Building 2, Building 6, and Building 8. Reserved spaces for people with reduced mobility (free of charge) are available near all entrances.

Parking at Aker Hospital is subject to a fee. Charges apply 24 hours a day, every day. See payment information below.

We have a large car park connected to the unit. Parking is free of charge.

The parking spaces directly outside the building are reserved for the unit’s vehicles.

There are two parking spaces belonging to the unit available for use by inpatients and their relatives.

The entrance to the car park is located further along the road past the main entrance to the Research Park.

Please note that the first car park belongs to visitors to the University of Oslo. For the Research Park’s car park, continue approximately 100 metres further.

Disabled parking is available on level U1 of the car park.

  • Tenants with access cards/parking agreements: Every day, 24 hours

  • Automatic debit from credit card via Autopay profile
  • Card payment at the machine on level U1. Press “Pay and remember me” to avoid using the machine on your next visit

  • Online payment within 48 hours
  • Invoice by post (with invoice fee) if none of the other options are used

  • Parking at Mortensrud Metro Station / Senter Syd – up to 3 hours free, approximately 500 metres away.

There are limited parking options available at Gullhaugveien 10–12, near Nydalen DPS.

The nearest parking facilities are located at Gullhaug Torg 1 and 2, next to the Torgbygget shopping centre.

Main Entrance

In front of the main entrance, there is a drop-off area.
This area is only for drop-off and pick-up, as well as a few reserved parking spaces for disabled visitors with a valid blue badge.
Other vehicles are not permitted to park in this area.

Parking Garage

Visitors and patients may park in the parking garage.
There is a lift from the garage to ground level; the entrance to the Radium Hospital is located across the street.
Visitor parking is available on the top two levels (U3 and U4) of the three-storey garage.
There are both stairs and a lift from the garage.

Reserved disabled parking spaces are available:

  • At the drop-off area in front of the main entrance
  • On level U3 of the parking garage
  • Near the entrance/exit by the Hospital Hotel

There are four electric vehicle charging stations on level U4.

Parent Parking

Companions of inpatients under the age of 18 may park free of charge in outdoor spaces marked “reserved for staff” (in the parking garage).

Park your car and contact the treating unit to confirm the child’s admission.
Remember to note and bring your vehicle’s registration number.

Show the confirmation at the reception by the main entrance (who will notify the reception at Rikshospitalet).

There is no need to display a parking ticket in the windscreen.

Rikshospitalet offers good parking facilities in the main parking garage, located approximately 250 metres from the main entrance – towards the Esso petrol station.

Access Square / Main entrance

The access square in front of Rikshospitalet is currently closed due to construction work. There is a temporary main entrance on the side of the building. Please follow signs to the Main entrance. 

By the Property Section / Eiendomsavdelingen

On the north side of Rikshospitalet, near the Property Section, there are short-term parking spaces and a ticket machine.

Parent Parking

Rikshospitalet has a limited number of parking spaces available for parents/guardians or companions.
They may park free of charge in staff parking areas (P1–P3) if the child is under 18 and admitted to the hospital.

Show confirmation of parent parking at the main reception. This confirmation is included in the appointment letter.
Reception opening hours:

  • Monday to Friday: 07:00–21:00
  • Saturday and Sunday: 10:00–20:00

The reception will issue an electronic parking permit for the duration of the child’s hospital stay (maximum 14 days).
No physical permit is needed in the windscreen. Your vehicle registration number will be recorded electronically, and you will receive a receipt via SMS if you provide your mobile number.
Already paid parking will not be refunded by the hospital.

For children attending outpatient or day treatment, parking must be paid for in advance and reimbursement can be requested via Pasientreiser.

There are several outdoor parking areas on the hospital grounds.
Parking fees apply every day, around the clock.

Parent Parking

Parents, guardians, or companions of children admitted to SSE may park free of charge in staff spaces.

This applies if the child is under 18, is hospitalised, and you have received permission from Oslo University Hospital (OUS). OUS grants one permit per patient.

Please note that parking capacity may be limited at times, and you may need to search for available spaces outside the main area near the parking garage.

Instructions:

  • Park your car and contact the treating unit to confirm the child’s admission.
  • Follow the instructions provided by the department to register for parent parking.
  • No visible ticket is required in the windscreen. Your registration number will be recorded electronically, and you will receive a receipt via SMS if you provide your phone number.
  • Already paid parking will not be refunded by the hospital.
  • The permit is valid for 14 days. It is your responsibility to ensure the permit is valid before parking.
  • Permits are not issued for patients attending day treatment or outpatient appointments, even if they attend frequently.

Other Relatives and Companions

Other relatives and companions must apply for reimbursement via Pasientreiser or a disabled parking permit from their local municipality.

Disabled Parking

If you have a valid disabled parking permit, you may use reserved spaces located throughout the area.In addition, all paid outdoor spaces may be used free of charge.
The permit must be visibly displayed in your vehicle for inspection.

Use the parking garage to the right after entering from Kirkeveien. Alternatively, you may use one of several smaller outdoor parking areas on the hospital grounds.
Please note that it can be difficult to find available outdoor parking, especially in the southern area near Kirkeveien.

Parents/guardians or companions of children admitted to Ullevål Hospital may park free of charge in staff parking spaces in the parking garage.

This applies if the child is under 18 and is hospitalised.

  • Remember to note and bring your vehicle’s registration number.
  • Show the confirmation at the reception in the Children’s Centre or at the Security Desk at the main entrance of Building 4.

  • Already paid parking will not be refunded by the hospital.

Emergency Births

In case of emergency childbirth, a reserved “emergency” parking space is available directly outside the entrance to the Women’s Clinic. The vehicle may remain there for a maximum of one hour before being moved to a regular parking space.

Disabled Parking

Individuals with a valid disabled parking permit may use reserved spaces strategically located around the area. In addition, all paid outdoor spaces may be used free of charge. The permit must be visibly displayed for inspection.
