For patients and next of kin

Call 113 (ambulance)

  • In case of life threatening emergencies
  • If you are in need of an ambulance

The phone line is open 24/7.

When you call 113 you have to give us the following information:

  • Where is the person who needs the ambulance (the address is important)?
  • What's the problem?
  • Is the person awake and able to talk?
  • Are they breathing normally?

You need to stay calm and answer questions. You have to do what you are being told.

Call you General Practitioner (GP) is you are feeling ill

If you're feeling ill, but you know you can wait a couple of hours or days, call your GP and ask for an appointment.

Legevakten (emergency room)

If your GP's not available and help cannot wait, call 116 117 for an assessment.

If you're injured and suspect fractures, head injuries, sprains or wounds, go directly to Legevakten at Trondheimsveien 233.

Legevakten in Oslo

At helsenorge.no

If you've received an appointment letter via helsenorge.no, you may message the OUS department directly through Helsenorge. This platform allows you to cancel your appointment or request a new time and date.

Response button

Should the scheduled time be inconvenient, you can inform us using the response button in Helsenorge. This button will appear in your inbox when you receive the appointment letter. Consequently, there is no need to call the hospital to cancel or reschedule your appointment.

For individuals under 16

The Helsenorge service is available to all individuals over the age of 16 who have provided their consent for full access at helsenorge.no. Guardians and parents (with parental resposibility) may provide consent on behalf of their children under the age of 16.

By phone

If you receive an appointment letter in Digipost, e-Boks or by post, you must contact the department by telephone to reschedule or cancel the appointment.

Notification deadline

Please notify the department at least 24 hours prior to your scheduled appointment, either through helsenorge.no or by phone, to avoid incurring any fees.
