Department of Refractory Epilepsy - SSE

The department of Refractory Epilepsy - SSE (formerly known as the National Centre for Epilepsy) serves epilepsy patients all over Norway with difficult-to-treat-epilepsy.

The department has national functions for examination of epilepsy surgery and follow-up of patients operated on. In addition, we have national functions for the treatment of mentally disabled people with epilepsy, and we are a national competence centre of rare epilepsy related diagnoses, national competence centre of epilepsy and developmental disability and a regional competence centre of epilepsy and autism. The department offers interdisciplinary epileptological competence in a lifelong perspective.
